Ryder Cup 2027 — The American Travel Guide to Adare Manor

Tickets. Flights. Where to stay. How to actually get to the course. Read this once and you'll plan a smarter trip than 90% of the people on your flight.

Golf Lodge — luxury private base 40 minutes from Adare Manor for the 2027 Ryder Cup

The dates

The 100th Ryder Cup is at Adare Manor, County Limerick, Ireland from Monday September 13 to Sunday September 19, 2027. Practice days run Monday–Wednesday; competitive play is Friday–Sunday.

Tickets — the timeline that matters for Americans

  • April 24, 2026: Exclusive priority window for residents of the island of Ireland.
  • Wednesday June 3, 2026: Public worldwide ballot opens — this is your day if you live in the US.
  • You apply for a ballot place via rydercup.com — this is not first-come-first-served, it's a randomised draw.
  • Ticket-inclusive hospitality packages are sold separately by Ryder Cup Travel Services and a small list of Official Tour Operators.

The point most Americans miss: you need to solve accommodation independently of tickets. The ballot announces results months after rooms inside Co. Limerick have already vanished.

Flying in — Shannon over Dublin

Most US travellers default to Dublin (DUB) — a mistake for this event. Shannon Airport (SNN) is just 50 minutes from Adare Manor and 50 minutes from our Lodge, with year-round direct service from JFK, Newark, Boston and Chicago O'Hare. You also clear US Customs & Border Protection in Shannon on the way home — meaning you land back in the States as a domestic passenger.

Where to actually stay

Three choices, in honest order:

  1. Adare Manor itself — booked years out, allocated to corporate hospitality and tour operators. Effectively unavailable.
  2. A hotel inside Co. Limerick — available, expensive, and you'll commute through Adare village traffic with everyone else.
  3. A private home 40–60 minutes north on the M7 — quieter, more space, owner-direct pricing, fast motorway commute. This is what most experienced golf travellers end up doing.

Golf Lodge sits squarely in option 3: a private luxury residence on Lough Derg in Co. Tipperary, sleeps 8–10, 7–14 night windows, owner-direct booking.

Getting to the course each day

From a base near the M7, you're 40 minutes door-to-course on motorway. From most Limerick hotels, you'll spend the same time just escaping the village. Ryder Cup Europe will operate park-and-ride and shuttle services — your driver drops you at the designated lot and you ride in with everyone else.

Weather — pack for autumn Ireland

September in the Irish midwest typically sits 12–17°C / 55–63°F with frequent rain. Layers, waterproof jacket, decent boots. Sunshine is a bonus, not a plan.

Money

Ireland uses the euro (€). Cards are accepted everywhere — Apple Pay, Google Pay and contactless are universal. Skip the airport currency desks; use a no-FX-fee card.

The smart move

Lock in accommodation before the ballot result lands. If you win tickets, you have a base. If you don't, you still have a week in Ireland watching it on the TV at the Lodge with eight friends, the fire lit and the pizza oven going — which, ask anyone who's done it, is not a bad week at all.
